Agenda 9/18/14 Thursday

Report to the library to finish up the presentation on annotated bibliographies with Mrs. Mc Cann. If you were absent Wednesday or Thursday, review the Google slide (link above) on your own, then complete the worksheet (file above).

3. Please get the SSR log and tape/staple to the front of your notebook. Look above for the SSR log if you were absent. Please get an SSR book by tomorrow, Thursday. Always have this book handy in your backpack.

1. Meet in the library to finish typing up your argument responses on Ground Zero. This is to be completed by today. If not, it will be your homework.

1. Warm-up: vocab. 2.6 (NB page 2-11)

2. Ground Zero Argument Response. Please click on the link above for the prompt/instructions, links to the texts you need to view, and template to follow for this assignment. 

3. You will type this essay on a Google Document and SHARE with [email protected]. If you click on the prompt above, you will see instructions. 

Agenda 9/12/14 Friday

1. Warm-up: On page 2-10 of your NB, think about “Ground Zero” we read yesterday and freewrite about how you felt about 9/11 as we discussed, saw pictures, and read the article. Why is it important that we remember that day? What did 9/11 reveal about Americans and what it means to be an American? How do you think it has affected our country today?

2. Finish SOAPSTone on "Ground Zero" on page 2-9 in NB. 

3. FATt sentence practice on page 2-9 of NB (under SOAPSTone)

4. Review other texts on 9/11 and take notes on each one on page 2-9 in your NB (just put these notes under your response to "Ground Zero"). The links to all of these texts are located below. 

4. Argument response: See above link for this prompt and instructions on how to write this response (page 1 has the prompt, and page 2 tells you how you can write). We only had time to read over the prompt today. We will start writing this in class next Monday.
