Logix will donate $2 for each toy donated to the MHF Toy Drive to our ASB efforts in supporting GV activities. The drive runs from November 20th, through Wednesday, December 6th. Thank you for supporting our school and the very worthy cause, the MHF Holiday Party hosted by GVHS.
The Air Force Junior ROTC instructors and cadets of Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita, CA earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards”…the highest rating attainable…during their unit evaluation on 06-Nov-2017. Maj Jose B. Bareng and MSgt Mike Watts created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach program. The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program. The Golden Valley High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Golden Valley High School Air Force Junior ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, their schools and the community. Congratulations.
Auditions for the Spring Musical, Chicago, will be held on November 28 in Room 601 between 3 and 6pm. Callbacks will be held on November 29 and 30 from 3-5pm. Please prepare a one minute monologue and a one minute song from a Broadway show to be sung acapella. You can sign up for a time slot or see Mrs. Prucha for more information in room 601. No experience necessary!
Young artists were recognized for their talent at the inaugural art contest hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Mayor’s Committee for Employment of Individuals with Disabilities on Wednesday. The competition sought to bring awareness to the skill and work ethic of teens with disabilities across the SCV in hopes that employers of local businesses would be encouraged to hire more people who are differently-abled. For the second straight year the Grizzlies will compete in the semi finals of the post season. They play Friday night at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach with kick off at 7 pm. To read The Signal's coverage click here.
Golden Valley High School is extremely proud of Grizzly softball player Cassidy Cangemi. Cassidy signed her National Letter Of Intent to play softball at Division 1 Boise State University. Cassidy and her whole family are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Grizzly Nation could not be more excited for Cassidy and all of her accomplishments.
Our marching band and color guard competed in the Southern California Championships and recorded a 9th place finish. In our first year as a 4A competing school, we scored an 85.55, which is the highest point score we have ever received. In addition, Color Guard took 7th and Percussion took 8th. Congratulations performers and coaches. Thank you parents and volunteers.
The boys ran hard and finished 14th in Division 2. Our season was much better than predicted. Daniel Rush finished 20th out of 172. The team was 2 points out of 13th. This was a GV athletic department record 6th post season appearance. Congratulations on a great season.
