Come join the GVHS Dance Team and their special guests as they host a spectacular showcase of dance performers from all over the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. Presale tickets are on sale for $5 in the Golden Valley High School ASB office. Tickets at the GVHS Gym door will be $10. We look forward to seeing you there!
Golden Valley wins the CIF-SS Shake for Sportsmanship Award!!!!
Golden Valley was selected by the Foothill League as the CIF-SS Shake for Sportsmanship winner this year. Golden Valley will be recognized on May 28, 2014 @ Dodger Stadium.

Out of 4,000 competing students, Sena Mawugbe was awarded a MAESTRO award!

Golden Valley Color Guard and Drum Line News
Color Guard earned a "Silver Award" in the WGASC Championships.
Drum Line is officially in the ADLA top 14 schools and will compete at the ADLA Championships on April 26th (at Long Beach City College, performing at 3:23pm; Admission is $15)
GVHS California Scholarship Federation 2014 Scholarship

GVHS California Scholarship Federation 2014 Scholarship CSF is offering three(3) $500 scholarships. Seniors must be a CSF member with 4, 5 or 6 semesters , including at least 1 semester of your senior year. Second semester may be used to qualify. Applications are available in room 304 or on-line. See Mrs. Werts for more information. Applications are due by May 5th at 3pm.

Softball: Lady Grizzlies Beat Indians 12-8

Softball: Lady Grizzlies Beat Indians 12-8 The Grizzlies rallied from five runs down, scoring nine runs in the final frame to shock Hart!!! Trailing 8-3 in the 7th inning, Jessica Luna led off with a solo home run, before Miranda Escalera’s two-run home run scored Marissa Felix and pulled the Grizzlies within two runs. With two outs and two on, Jenna Pearlman came through with a clutch double to tie the game, and Gabby Thomas gave Golden Valley a 10-8 lead with a three-run home run. The Grizzlies scored another two runs to make it 12-8. The Grizzlies finished the game with solid pitching by Racqual Espinoza and excellent defense all around. Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Softball Team.

Boys Tennis: Brandon Yu's Growth Parrallels GV Tennis Golden Valley Tennis standout and captain Brandon Yu has had to compensate for smaller size with great foot work and speed in order to win in the past but now with a recent growth spurt over the past year, he is adding power to his game. Last year Yu, as a sophomore, lead the Grizzlies to the playoffs for the first time in school history and finished with an overall record of 37- 11. Now with a more complete game Brandon is 29-5 overall and looking to make an even bigger push in the CIF-SS playoffs.

Girls Track&Field are 3-0 in Foothill League

Girls Track&Field are 3-0 in Foothill League The Lady Grizzlies picked up exactly where they left off last season, after they finished with the first ever Girls Track and Field Foothill League Title in school history. So far the Lady Grizzlies have proven to be unstoppable with dominating wins over Hart, Valencia, and Canyon. Continuing to be a standout for the Girls Track and Field Team is sprinter Azaria Hill who won the 100, 200, and 4X100 meter sprints at all league meets.
