2022– 2023 National Honor Society

Welcome! As a charter-certified institution of the National Honor Society, Golden Valley High School is proud to recognize our student members for their exceptional achievements. GVHS NHS students are not only academically remarkable, but also socially active, responsible individuals who are committed to serving their peers and community.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students.  More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

Today, more than one million students participate in NHS activities.  NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U. S. territories, and Canada.  Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.  

It is GVHS's NHS purpose to build character, extend awareness of scholarship, build leadership skills, and serve the school and community.  As such, we look forward to our students' contributions and success on and off campus in the years to come.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY PLEDGE

I pledge to myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected.  I will be true to the principles for which it stand.  I will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, leadership, and character.
