2. Review rhetorical appeals (see link above on examples in ads)
3. Ad Activity: Find a school appropriate ad online and click on your period's link above to fill out the Google form questions on it.
Agenda 8/19/14 Tuesday
1. Warm-up: write down correct definitions for vocab 1.1 (p. 1 in your notebook- see above link for Table of Contents; see above for correct definitions).
2. Review SOAPSTone for Lou Gehrig's speech (p. 2 in your notebook)
3. Entry #3 (p. 3 in your notebook): Based on Gehrig's speech, what can you say about the values of Americans? Write a paragraph explaining what American values Gehrig portrays through his speech. Make sure to use textual evidence to support your answer. Present responses to class.
4. Rhetorical devices: ethos, logos, pathos
-Entry #4 (p. 4 in your notebook): watch video (see above link if you were absent) and take notes (tree map)
5. Exit Slip: Convince your parents that you should get a job while in school. Use ethos, logos, and pathos.
