American Dream PT Sample
This is a sample Performance Task Final that I have created to help you structure your own. Make sure you double space your final and have it written in 12 pt font. You will be given Tuesday's class period to work on your Final and ask me any questions or request any help. Additionally, you will have time on the day of the final to make any last minute changes to your Google Doc; however, do not count on having the entire period to finish the essay. Keep working on all parts throughout the time left in the semester.

Remember that I will be collecting all of you note guides after we finish the book. They will be worth ten points each, and you will have eight guides for a total of eighty points. Don't let yourself fall behind on this!

2. Journal #4: In Their Shoes - you will be assigned a character from this chapter. As we read through page 135, I will stop you at certain places to record your thoughts as if you were that character. In your Journal you will record:

Make a prediction for your character in the upcoming pages.

1. Journal #1: Vocab 15.1 - guess definitions. This will be your final set of vocab, but make sure to keep your old ones for the final quiz.
2. Gatsby Chp 6 Character Chart - find 4 quotes that describe James Gatz and 4 quotes that describe Jay Gatsby. Put them into your chart (draw your own using the file above as a guide) and create a simple illustration of each character. What might they look like? What would they wear? Use details from the text, the movie clips we watched, or from your own imagination. Due at the end of the period.

1. Journal #7 OQI Chart for Daisy and Gatsby - as you read chapter 5, make five entries into you chart about Gatsby, Daisy, or their interaction. You should have five observations, five questions, and five inferences in total.
