Alum Daniel Rush continue academic athletic accomplishments

His years at The Master's University have been full of blessings.  He's now a senior, majoring in business.  He still has a 4.0, although that might slip just a bit this semester.  He'll graduate next May and then work on an M.B.A.

In June he's getting married to Brooke Milam, who he's known from church since they were toddlers.  They only got to know each other really well at GV and started dating about when they started college at TMU.  Brooke is also on the cross country and track teams at TMU.

Daniel has been all-conference all 4 years in cross country, and 4 times in his 2 seasons in track (1x in 2021 and 3x in 2022).  In track, he was conference champion in the 5000 meters in both 2021 and 2022.  He was also all-conference in the 1500 (2nd) and 10,000 (3rd) in 2022:
He was All-American in the 5000 in 2022, taking 4th and the NAIA Track and Field National Championships.   His teammate, roommate, and best friend Davis Boggess took 2nd in the same race:
TMU took 3rd place as a team in the 2022 NAIA Cross Country National Championships last month.  Daniel was generally #3 on TMU's cross country team this year (very close to the top 2), but had the flu pretty bad and didn't do great at the national race, but he still helped his team take 3rd:
TMU is in the GSAC Conference (Golden State Athletic Conference). That includes 10 schools (8 in CA, 2 in AZ).

GSAC is one of about 20 conferences in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).  The NAIA is not a division of the NCAA, but a completely separate organization.  It is composed of mostly small schools and generally compares to NCAA division II or III in most sports.

TMU's cross country team has been so good the last couple years that they would be near the top of NCAA Division II or III and could beat all but the top couple dozen of over 300 schools in NCAA Division I.  In October they traveled to Florida to compete in the FSU Invitational, with lots of D-I schools and won the entire meet, beating big D-I schools like FSU, Miami, and LSU:

Daniel has also received all sorts of academic and scholar-athlete awards every semester.  For 2021-2022 he was one of only 10 athletes in all of the NAIA Men's Cross Country and Track programs to be selected Academic All-American (from over 200 schools and over 10,000 athletes):

And a few more articles than mention Daniel:
