*due next Thursday: Imitation writing on Richard Selzer's The Exact Location of my Soul (log on to Canvas to see this assignment instructions). 

*Please get a novel of your choice to read for Silent Sustained Reading in class. Please have one handy by next Tuesday. We may not have time to do SSR every day, but there will be days when I ask you to take out your SSR book and read during class. I will expect you to have one ready at all times starting from next Tuesday.

-Read student samples of response to Obama's speech and discuss strengths and weaknesses

2. Glossary of Terms (Quiz on next Friday; quiz may also include items from your Writer's NB) 

3. Voice Lessons Prezi Presentation (take notes; link is above)

4. Diction practice in Writer's NB (see above link). 

5. Annie Dillard's from Holy the Firm:

Period 2: 

Do not freak out if you are unable to log in to Canvas. There was an error and I had to go back and delete and add you all again. I read through all the responses before they were deleted, so you will get credit for what you posted. If you were not finished, you can simply turn in a handwritten copy (or email me) of your response by Monday. I apologize for this inconvenience! In the meantime, please check your school Google account (your [email protected]). You should have received an email from canvas inviting you to my page. At the bottom of that invitation, click on where it says in small print "Click here to finish the registration process." Once you are on my page, accept the invitation to join. 

Agenda 8/22/14 Friday *one hour late start

2. Go to your school Google account (your [email protected]), click on the small print at the bottom under the Canvas logo. 

3. Accept the invitation at the top. 

4. Go to the Discussion board, read, and respond.
