Mrs. Juanita Rojas
Mrs. Juanita Rojas brings 32 years of experience in education, including 27 years teaching History at the junior high level. She is excited to begin her fifth year at GV, where she teaches U.S. History, Psychology, Human Geography, and Ballet Folklorico (Dance Production). During her first year at GV, she also served as a Student Support Specialist with the Hart District, working with Counselors, the School Social Worker, and staff to support students with attendance needs.
Over the years, her career roles have included Department Chair, Advisor for Safe School Ambassadors and DFY in SCV, Ballet Folklorico Club Advisor, Social Awareness Education Club Advisor, and PD Team Member.
Mrs. Rojas earned her B.A. in Urban Studies from CSUN, her Teaching Credential, and M.A. in Education from Pepperdine University, and an additional M.A. in Education and Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis on Trauma & Resilience from Concordia University, Nebraska. Her graduate studies have strengthened her understanding of how trauma and stress impact student behavior and learning, equipping her to better support students academically and emotionally.
She is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming classroom and building strong, positive relationships with her students and their families.
