If you were absent today, we had a Journal (vocab. 3.3- get this from teacher in class). Also, today's assignment was to write a persuasive letter to a friend who is about to make a bad decision. Your job is to convince your friend through inspiring reasons, emotional appeals, alternative options, and descriptive, colorful language. The assignment is attached. If you were absent, print this out and choose ONE of the six scenarios and write a letter. Staple the letter to the assignment, put your name and "ABSENT" on it, then turn in.

Today, students went over a powerpoint on literary terms. Students made a booklet (out of blank pieces of paper) and for each literary term, they wrote down the definitions, then came up with examples with partners. Students will find examples of each lit term from the book later this week after our upcoming reading. If you were absent or did not finish everything in class, please look over the attached powerpoint and make your own notes.
