Today we are continuing to practice solving systems of equations by substitution. You will be finishing your Khan Academy from Friday, including the quiz. Then you will complete the IXL assignments below.

These days we are working on unit 3, lesson 18, which is going to introduce us to the different types of solutions we can have for a system of linear equations. Friday will be a Desmos Activity. Monday we will get into the homework. Homework is p.453-455 #1-6 ALL

For those of you that have not completed the diagnostic, you will complete that first.

Today we are working on unit 5, lesson 2, which is checking to see if something is a function. Homework is p.31-33 #1-11 ALL

Today is the first day working in our textbook. Please make sure you bring unit 5, lesson 1 from your textbook to class. It starts on page 13 in your book. We are starting to work on functions and what exactly is a function. Homework will be submitted each day on Classroom. You may take a picture of each page and upload it or annotate using Kami and turn it in that way. Homework is p.21-24 #1-20 ALL

In looking at your diagnostic tests it became clear that we need to spend some time on review. In particular we need to spend time reviewing square roots and exponents. Khan Academy does a good job of reviewing these concepts. This week, there will be different Khan assignments daily. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about any concepts you do not understand. We will go over all of the properties of exponents in class after you finish with the assignments. All of the Khan assignments are designed to be completed in class. You should not need to finish them at home. In the event you do not finish them at home they will become homework.

All assignments labeled quiz will count as a quiz in the gradebook. You may retake the quizzes to improve your score up to 100%. In order to receive classwork credit you must score at least 70% on each question set. Again, you can redo the questions if necessary.

Every week there will be an agenda posted so you know what to expect for the week. Please read the agenda each week and submit that you have read it. Here is our agenda for the first week of school.

Tuesday, August 9th- We will get to know the class and expectations. We will go over online platforms we will use. We will also take a fun "quiz" on Quizizz, which we will use for real quizzes throughout the year.
Wednesday, August 10th- I will be out today. You will have assignments to work on Khan Academy.
Thursday, August 11th and Friday, August 12th- You are taking an online diagnostic. It is not graded and is only used to see what you already know.
