WHY LEARN MATH ANYWAY?

"All musicians are subconsciously mathematicians.--Thelonious Sphere Monk,

American jazz pianist and composer, 1917 - 1982.

WHY DO WE NEED TO LEARN MATH ANYWAY?

Reasons why we don't want to learn math:  Math is hard.  Math can be challenging.  Math is frustrating.  Math takes too long.  It's discouraging.  There is too much to memorize.  Nothing makes sense.  It's too abstract.  Math is completely detached from the real world.

Now that we've totally bagged on math, watch the videos below.  Really.  Take a few minutes out of your day and watch them.

So, is learning math easy?  Nope.  Is it time-consuming?  Yep.  I'll be the first one to admit that.  But hang in there.  Mastering math is hard, but mastering math also gives you opportunities to make a positive difference in the world, to succeed, and to be a powerful and informed citizen (you might even make a good buck doing it too).

Be a master of mathematics.  Make a difference in astronomy, climate study, national security, medicine, robotics, animated films, cryptography, biomathematics.... whatever!
