Charity Evans, MA. Ed

Ms. Evans is an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of technology integration and staff development. 


In 2018, Ms. Evans continued her service to all students and staff when she brought her skills to the team at Golden Valley High School. Ms. Evans currently teaches Computer Science at Golden Valley with a focus on Python, Javascript, and Java. In addition to her primary responsibilities as an educator, she serves as the webmaster, technology coordinator, and instructional coach for the school site. Some of her past roles at Golden Valley include Professional Development department lead, Girls Who Code club Advisor,  and Co-Department Chair.


Prior to her time in the Hart district, she taught for the Antelope Valley Unified High School for four and a half years. Ms. Evans taught 7th and 8th grade English, Social Science, and AVID. Additionally, she worked as a Google Trainer who hosted professional development workshops districtwide to support her colleagues in technology integration.


Ms. Evans has a Masters of Education degree with an emphasis on Secondary Education from Brandman University and an undergraduate degree in English Literature from California State University of Bakersfield. She has earned four teaching credentials through the California Department of Education: English, Social Science,  Industrial and Technology Education, and Career and Technical Education (CTE).  She is also a member of the California Computer Science Association. Ms. Evans is a lifelong learner and participates in a variety of activities to grow as an educator. She has been in various roles in education since 2009 and has been a credentialed classroom teacher since 2013.  

She spent her teenage years in Juniper Hills near the Devil's Punch Bowl and enjoys hiking, audiobooks, writing, coding, time with her family and pets, visiting museums, and volunteering in Santa Clarita for causes she holds dear.  Ms. Evans believes in investing in her own well-being and creating a space separate from work responsibilities, so she can be fully present, bring her best to her work, and model resiliency.
